The Proposed Rezoning

Potential Impacts

Traffic and increased accidents at 54/Trinity Road, increased traffic (600+ cars!) ingressing and egressing right near the intersection

Quality of Life for existing homes (noise, crime, light pollution, natural area destruction, crowding, loss of natural spaces to relax, cars and traffic inside neighborhoods)

Environmental Impacts including too much impervious surface creating runoff directly to streams and Reedy Creek. Wildlife loss of habitat. Clear-cutting existing natural buffer for stream

How does the rezoning process work?

  • There was an initial virtual neighborhood meeting on February 5, 2025, which was attended by 165 participants.
  • The Town planners have provided feedback to the applicant (ZOM Living) and they will go back and forth on the plans.
  • A public hearing will be announced at held. Date TBD. Comments can be submitted in writing and in person at the hearing. Note—this is the last chance to provide input to the Town.
  • The Rezoning Board for Cary meets and provides recommendations to the Town.
  • The Town Council votes on the proposed Rezoning.
